Ancient Roman Egypt. 1st - 2nd century AD Glass mosaic bead earrings. Brilliant blue glass beads with fine raised white, green and red 'mosaic' glass details. Beads unearthed near the Fayum, mid/lower Egypt, ex-Upstate New York collection, acquired in the 1960's. Professionally strung on modern silver jewelry wire and findings. Each measures around 32 mm (1 1/4") with hook.
Luristan, Persia. 1200-800 BC. Large bronze torque. Beautiful emerald- to olive-green patina, nice incised details on the terminals. Was meant to be worn around the upper arm, at the biceps. This is a large piece so likely belonged to a warrior or other relatively large and muscular individual! Outside diameter 89 mm (3 1/2")! Intact and wearable.
